KIZNAIVER

Story:

The story takes place in Sugomori, a city built upon reclaimed land that once prospered as a futuristic city. One high school boy living there, Agata Katsuhira, is somehow unable to feel any pain. One day just before the start of summer break, Katsuhira is called by a mysterious girl named Sonozaki Noriko and chosen to become one of a group of people who share one another's pain: a "Kiznaiver." Several of his classmates have also been chosen as part of this group, but they're all people from different circles who normally wouldn't associate with each other.

Take a few of your time and watch this show while summer is still here if you haven't done so.

I think the opening is colorfully drawn with catchy music in the background, similar to how these characters are introduce and how they grow later. As the story slowly build upon these seven (then eight) different individuals who are pulled into this Kiznaiver experiment, you get to see and feel how each character would react given crucial circumstances and timing.

Katsuhira is an important figure in this show, because without him, the current events wouldn't have progressed the way it did. Looking from a different perspective, Katsuhira's reactions and actions is an example of how an outsider (or stranger) would react to certain events that may have no interests or does not relate to them.

It is also due to the help of Sonozaki that these seven individuals came together regardless of how they feel throughout the story. Even if she may not realize it herself, I think she unconsciously hopes that she can be connected to others in some way; either through the glaring eyes of others, or their mesmerizing eyes.

Given time and attention, one could be drawn to another in certain situations. The feelings and emotions in this story will become more apparent after the group members are assemble. Get ready for a roller coaster ride along this story. It may get a bit touchy, pushy, and forceful, but it all makes sense after the ride makes its full circle route back to the beginning. Then and only then should you think and evaluate what you experienced, and finally express how you feel about the overall story and its concept.
